The Emmons family and The Out-of-Door Academy are proud to announce Rebecca Aguilera as the tenth recipient of the prestigious Taylor Emmons Scholarship. An extraordinary young woman, Rebecca demonstrates incredible character in all areas of her life and she truly embodies Out-of-Door's core values: Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Responsibility. In the classroom, Rebecca is known for her strong work ethic and dedication to her rigorous academic program. Her teachers identify Rebecca as a "dedicated, focused, and resourceful student" and an "amazing young woman."
One of Rebecca's greatest qualities is her huge heart and her desire to give back. From assisting The Umbrella Women to assembling hygiene bags, Rebecca is committed to helping homeless individuals and families in her community. When not in the classroom or volunteering her time, Rebecca participates on her school's tennis and basketball teams.
Head of School David Mahler is excited to welcome the recent Emmons recipient to the school community. "Rebecca's many talents, character, and her giving spirit will make her a great addition to the Out-of-Door community," he said.
On behalf of the Emmons family and The Out-of-Door Academy, we are pleased to recognize Rebecca Aguilera as this year's scholarship recipient, and we know that she will represent and honor Taylor's legacy for years to come.
